Powder Mill District Champion finishes 9th in the World at Pinewood Derby World Championship
Congratulations to Thomas Pollutri who finished 6th in his division and 9th in the world among 4th graders in the Cub Scout Pinewood Derby World Championship in NYC Times Square last month (June 24th). From the US alone there were participants from 26 states. Thomas had qualified for the World Championship by finishing 1st at his school in February (Pack 960 at Heritage Elementary) and then 1st in the Powder Mill District Finals in May. After the World Championship race, he and his dad Tom spent the day in NYC, visiting various locations such as the Hard Rock Cafe as well as the tons of street vendors selling those recently popular fidget spinners 🙂 They also took a ride on the Staten Island Ferry and enjoyed the view of the Statue of Liberty. Thomas had never been to Manhattan before so he totally loved it and the weather was near perfect.
